The short film Afrolatinos recounts the history of African people and their descendants in Latin America, highlighting the importance of their influence on the culture and history of various regions. Inspired by Afro-Panamanian director Edwin Pitti’s life, the film explores what it means to be Afrolatino, using research and interviews. Pitti shows how Afro-descendants confront social inequality, fighting against racism and advocating for representation and better access to education, health and political systems.
