El film fue dividido en cuatro partes: la primera en el mar de Génova y posterior llegada al oriente. La segunda trató sobre las costumbres de los Jíbaros y sus formas de caza. La tercera sobre la fiesta de la Tzanza o cabeza reducida y la cuarta mostraba la obra salesiana en las Misiones del oriente y la del Comité Patriótico orientalista de señoras. Esta obra es considerada como el primer documental antropológico ecuatoriano; inaugura una larga historia de estereotipos y discriminación que aún pesan sobre los pueblos indígenas de este país. The film was divided into four parts: the first is located in the sea of Genoa. The second deals with the customs of the Jivaro people and their ways of hunting. The third is on the feast of the Tzanza or the “shrunken head”, and the fourth shows the Salesian work in the Missions of the East and the work of the Oriental Patriotic Ladies Committee.This work is considered the first Ecuadorian anthropological documentary; It inaugurates a long history of stereotypes and discrimination that still weigh on the indigenous peoples of this country.
