Cuenta la historia que a la ciudad de Loja llega súbitamente de Roma por equivocación la imagen de un santo. El cura de la ciudad, Padre Horacio lo quiere usar para disminuir la apatía de los feligreses ya que su reputación se ha venido desmejorando, pero el descalabro se da cuando se roban al santo, perseguido por quienes creen que conseguirán milagros. La situación se complica aún más cuando llega de Italia a reclamar la imagen Don Vitorio, un malvado mafioso. Solo el mafioso y el cura saben el secreto que tiene esta imagen, por esta razón la desesperación los lleva a perpetrar acciones jocosas en la búsqueda del santo. This film tells the story of an icon of a saint that suddenly and unexpectedly arrives from Rome to the city of Loja. The city's priest, Father Horacio, wants to use the saint to lessen the parishioners' apathy and improve his deteriorating reputation. Misfortune begins when someone steals the saint, persuaded by the belief that it can perform miracles. The situation gets even more complicated when an evil mobster, Don Vitorio, arrives from Italy to claim the icon. Only the mobster and the priest know the secret of the saint, which leads them to make a series of comedic choices in their desperate search. The crazy events of this entertaining comedy reflect the idiosyncrasies of the Lojana and Ecuadorian people. (Translated by Abi Dresser)
