Silvestre Pantaleón es la historia de la lucha cotidiana de un anciano del pueblo Nahua de San Agustín Oapan, Guerrero, por conseguir el dinero necesario para que le hagan una ceremonia de curación: "Levantamiento de sombra". Para conseguirlo, Don Silvestre hace lo único que sabe hacer y que quizá sólo él hace hoy en día: producir objetos tanto de uso cotidiano como religioso con la fibra de maguey y la palma. Silvestre Pantaleón is the story of an elderly man from the Nahuatl-speaking village of San Agustín Oapan, Guerrero, who struggles to earn the money needed for a healing ceremony known as "Shadow lifting." In order to pay for the ceremony, Don Silvestre does the only thing he knows how: create handcrafted objects out of maguey and palm tree fibers for daily and religious use.
