Víctor Herrera, joven propietario de la hacienda de Lobos, recibe una carta de su novia Catalina, para que acuda a verla a la capital. En México, los novios van de paseo a Xochimilco y suben a la trajinera que les ofrece el indígena Diego, quien porta un anillo antiquísimo que perteneció a nobles personajes de Raza Azteca que fueron sus antepasados. Un accidente de la trajinera los arroja al agua y Diego salva a Catalina y ésta en agradecimiento, lo invita un día a su casa. Una tarde, al término de un paseo que Víctor y Catalina realizan por Chapultepec, Catalina es raptada por unos malechores que la suben a un auto. Víctor y Diego van en su ayuda y después de muchas peripecias finalmente la rescatan. Víctor posee un viejo anillo de sus antepasados que también es de Raza Ateca. Durante el matrimonio de Víctor con Catalina, aparecen los malechores que habían secuestrado a Catalina quienes intentan asesinar al novio. La bala da en Diego, que cae herido. Es llevado a Xochimilco donde lo cura su esposa Luz. Al final Víctor y Catalina efectúan un viaje al lugar para saludar a la feliz pareja de indígenas. (Filmoteca UNAM)
Victor Herrera, a young hacienda owner, receives a letter from his girlfriend Catalina, asking him to go see her in the capital. In Mexico City, the couple go on a walk to Xochimilco and board a boat offered to them by an indigenous man named Diego who wears an old ring that belonged to noble Aztec ancestors. A boat accident throws them into the water, but Diego saves Catalina and, as a gesture of thanks, she invites him to her house one day. Then one afternoon, after taking a walk in Chapultepec Park, Catalina is kidnapped by criminals. Victor and Diego set out to find her and, after many setbacks, they finally rescue Catalina. Victor also has an old ring that is from his Aztec ancestors. Later, during Victor and Catalina's marriage ceremony, the kidnappers show up again and try to kill Victor. But the bullet hits and injures Diego. He is brought to Xochimilco, where he is cured by his wife Luz. In the end, Victor and Catalina take a trip to visit the happy indigenous couple.
