An eleven year old girl, brave survivor of the concrete jungle, fascinated by Mozart in the middle of a crime? Impossible, or at least improbable. Brígida, her grandmother, is a fortune-teller, a con artist and a lottery ticket seller who treats Maroa poorly and demands an exact account of her money. Maroa’s life doesn’t seem to have a future until the moment she hears a clarinet. The connection is magical and profound.
