El trabajo intenta trazar una historia de la mujer mexicana, desde la época precolombina hasta el presente, tanto en México como en Estados Unidos. Reuniendo testimonios, remitiéndose a la plástica de ambos países y recopilando imágenes de archivo, la cineasta consigue una emotiva reflexión sobre el papel de estas mujeres en los movimientos sociales que cambiaron la historia de ambos países.
