The cangaceiro Galdino and his band spread terror throughout the northeastern caatinga. With the intention of asking for a high ransom, Galdino kidnaps Professor Olivia during a group robbery in a small village. Theodore, lieutenant of Captain Galdino, falls in love with Olivia, a feeling promptly reciprocated. Driven by his love, he decides to free Olivia. Helped by a cangaceiro of the group, Teodoro puts his escape plan into action. Furious with his comrade's betrayal, Galdino tortures the cangaceiro who helped the fugitives and puts the whole group on the hunt for them. While enjoying their freedom, Theodore and Olivia are discovered by a cangaceiro sent by Galdino. Theodore understands that the band must be around, and he tells Olivia to go alone and take the path that will lead her back to the village where she lives. (Translation by Jessica Batista)
