Un relato sobre la transexualidad, la violencia de género y la "doble moral", recreado en los peores años de la crisis cubana de los noventa. Basado en hechos reales. El filme narra la historia de Rosa Elena y Ernesto, inmersos en la Habana de 1994. Ella, asistente de enfermería; él, jefe de una obra en construcción importante para el desarrollo turístico del país. Ambos se enamoran, se casan e intentan ser felices hasta que un secreto en la vida de ella amenaza esa armonía y los convierte en víctimas de la violencia, el prejuicio y los estereotipos de una sociedad que aún se encuentra regida por actitudes machistas y patriarcales. A story about transsexuality, gender-based violence and the “double standard”, recreated during the worst years of the Cuban crisis of the nineties. Based on real events, this film tells the story of Rosa Elena and Ernesto, living in Havana in 1994. She is a nursing assistant; he is the head of a construction project that is very important for the growth of tourism in the country. They fall in love, get married and try to be happy, until a secret about Rosa's life threatens this harmony and transforms them into victims of the violence, prejudice and stereotypes of a society that is still governed by sexist and patriarchal views.
