In the summer of 1994, a team of reporters from Televisión de Cataluña filmed and interviewed seven Cubans and their families during the days in which they prepared for the risky adventure of embarking into the ocean. Fleeing the economic dificulties that devasted their country, the Cubans escaped on rafts in order to reach the coast of the United States. (Translated by Sarah Shorter)
