Abruptly, Pierre is uprooted from his working class neighborhood and brought inside his new family's gated community. His father shows him off to friends like his son is a trophy long overdue, while his mother fusses over him incessantly. Pierre is polite at first, but grows uncomfortable under the gaze of his new parents, and his natural instinct to rebel starts to brew. Only Pierre's new younger brother Joca (Daniel Botelho), a snotty rich kid clearly unhappy at losing his parents' attention, reacts honestly to Pierre's presence. One of the subtle touches of Muylaert's film is seeing the similarities between the two boys despite their different upbringings. "Don't Call Me Son" presents an impossible situation for all involved, and in a film that's only 82 minutes, Muylaert doesn't try to resolve all the tensions and conflicting emotions. Section 3: Análisis del medio de la comunicación Análisis de encuadres Renuncia de sus posesiones En esta escena, sor Juana debe renunciar a sus posesiones. Ella tiene en sus brazos un penacho de plumas que le dio su amiga, la Virreina. Es su último momento con este regalo, ella se ve enferma y pensativa. En el encuadre Sor Juana está iluminada a través de una luz artificial. Una luz lateral es usada, se puede ver en el piso a la izquierda de Sor Juana. La ventana y algunos papeles son también iluminados. El resto del cuarto está oscuro. Un plano medio es usado y Sor Juan se encuentra en medio del encuadre (un poco a la derecha también podemos ver la ventana). Sor Juana está vestida de blanco y con un penacho azul. Está lloviendo afuera y se ve un gris azulado. �Juana como una niña Esta escena toma lugar cuando Sor Juan recuerda su pasado. Ella quería vestirse de hombre para poder ir a la escuela y estudiar. Estos dos encuadres son retrocesos. Es interesante por que se puede ver a ambas Sor Juana niña y Sor Juana recordando el incidente. En ambos encuadres hay un foco profundo. La Sor Juana del presente está más iluminada que la Sor Juana del pasado, hay una iluminación artificial. La entrada también está iluminada. Sor Juananiña está apoyada en la cama y está molesta por que su mama no le permitió llevar a cabo su plan. En el primer encuadre, la Sor Juana del presente tiene una cara solemne. En el segundo, ambas Sor Juanas sonríen, parecen felices y orgullosas de su idea (ir a la escuela de cualquier manera). Ambos encuadres usan un plano medio con acercamiento a la Sor Juana del presente. El sometimiento de Sor Juana Esta escena toma lugar cuando Sor Juana está leyendo la carta que menciona su renuncia a escribir y a leer. Es cerca del final de la película. El fondo es oscuro. El encuadre está en foco profundo. La toma es un acercamiento de Sor Juana, lo que permite percibir las emociones de Sor Juana. Sor Juana se encuentra sudando y parece estar un poco nerviosa y temerosa. Ella lleva puesto unos lentes, los cuales más tarde rompe con su propia mano. Sus ojos están fijos en las personas a quienes les está leyendo su carta, sus ojos lucen grandes y muy expresivos. Es la primera vez que Sor Juan usa lentes en la película para indicar que ella está exhausta. Los lentes simbolizan que ella ya no es capaz de “ver” el mundo que le rodea o que su “visión” está fallando. �Juana escribe Este encuadre, al principio de la película, es muy interesante por que se ve a Sor Juan a través de sus instrumentos. Ella está pensando y escribiendo en su escritorio rodeada de sus regalos y sus instrumentos de estudio. En este encuadre hay un foco profundo. Sor Juana se encuentra un poco a la izquierda. Es un plano medio, con un acercamiento al instrumento que permite verla. La luz artificial ilumina a Sor Juana y su escritorio. Se ven los rayos del sol a través de la ventana y hay una rendija de luz en el piso. La toma exalta la soledad de Sor Juan en el mundo exterior. Ella ha creado su propio “cuarto” (una posible referencia de Virginia Wolf) donde ella puede escribir y estudiar en paz. Yo, la peor de todas Estos dos encuadres aparecen al final de su renuncia. Ella demuestra la seriedad de este hecho al romper sus anteojos con la mano y escribir con su propia sangre. Arriba de la toma hay un foco profundo, de esta manera se puede ver claramente los lentes rotos y la mano sangrando, mientras la carta que escribe Sor Juana está fuera de foco e incapaz de leerse. Sólo estos tres elementos están iluminados, el fondo está oscuro. La toma es un acercamiento de su mano con los lentes y la carta. En la otra parte de la toma hay un gran acercamiento a la parte final de la carta. Se puede ver claramente su firma (escrita en tinta), “Yo, la peor de todas” (escrita con su propia sangre), los lentes rotos, la pluma y una gota de sangre. Es posible que el romper los lentes simbolice el fin de la escritura y la lectura de Sor Juana, aunque no fueron rotos por la mano que usaba para escribir. Crítica del medio de comunicación La directora argentina María Luisa Bemberg filmó la película, Yo, la peor de todas, en 1990. Para entender el significado y el simbolismo de esta película, se debe pensar en un número de diferentes aspectos que afectan su diseño. Esto puede ser obtenido contestando críticamente un número de diferentes preguntas sobre la película, Yo, la peor de todas. 1. ¿Cuál es el punto de vista del director? ¿Esto afecta sus motivos para dirigir esta película? Bemberg nunca recibió alguna educación formal, fue educada por tutores de acuerdo a su clase social. Sin embargo ella fue influenciada por el escritor francés Andre Malraux y también por libros como Second sex de Simone de Beauvoir. Bemberg sintió mucho la presión de ser mujer en su sociedad, y en muchas sociedades donde se relacionaba. Ella vio el doble tratamiento entre ella y sus hermanos. Estas experiencias pueden ayudar a entender por qué Bemberg hizo las películas que hizo y qué esperaba expresar al hacerlas. La directora siempre muestra a Sor Juana detrás de las barras. No sólo literalmente, sino simbólicamente. Se sabe que Sor Juana se mantiene detrás de las barras casi toda su vida; no sólo se sabe esto antes de que ella estuviera físicamente detrás de las barras, sino que ella se sentía siempre atrapada por el hecho de ser mujer. La película también muestra diferentes tomas de Sor Juana con sus libros a la derecha y alrededor de ella. Esto muestra que la educación de Sor Juana y el deseo de aprender son lo principal en su vida. Siente que no es nada sin sus libros. 3. ¿Para que tipo de audiencia está dirigida esta película? El tipo de audiencia para esta película es claramente la gente que sabe la situación de la Nueva España a finales del siglo XVII. Sin el conocimiento básico de esa época, podría ser difícil entender lo que está pasando. La película también está dirigida al publico que está interesado en el Feminismo. Se ve la opresión de la mujer y el dominio del hombre a través de toda la película. 4. ¿Qué áreas no son totalmente expresadas por el director de la película y por qué? El área de la homosexualidad en la película es ligeramente tocada. Se ve una gran admiración que tiene Sor Juana por la virreina, sin embargo, nunca se sabe si realmente es una simple relación inocente o si ella tiene otras intenciones. La razón por la cual no se sabe si esta situación es verdadera es por que no hay alguna evidencia que apoye esto. Muchos creen que Sor Juan debió haber sido homosexual, pero no hay una prueba real de esto. La directora hizo un buen trabajo al mostrar la posibilidad de que Sor Juana debió haber sido homosexual, pero no lo establece como un hecho real.
